Addie Rose’s doors were opened to students and their mothers for a shopping spree and Sunday brunch Nov. 5. As well as providing a spread of fruit, bagels, donuts and muffins, the store donated 10 percent of sales made from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. back to the school. Students who made it out to Prairiefire for the event were also able to browse and purchase items from Limelight, Kendra Scott and Scoobie who set up pop up shops within the store.

Addie Rose boutique was founded by alumna Meagan Doyle. Since opening the store, she has been able to combine her passion for fashion and art, according to Doyle.

“I grew up working in retail. My family had grocery stores,” Doyle said. “Entrepreneurship is what I grew up with.”

Doyle attends the same church as sophomore Olivia Townsend who asked her to host the event at her store, according to Townsend.

“My mom has known Meagan for a long time. They have been friends for a while,” Townsend said. “She was more than happy to have this event.”

Doyle also has a 10 percent discount for students who bring their students I.D.s or wear their class ring. During the brunch and shopping spree the student discount was instead donated directly to the school.

“It’s fun to meet the girls and their moms,” Doyle said.

Students shop at Addie Rose and their clothes have also been featured in the annual Mother Daughter luncheon and fashion show.

“I normally shop at Addie Rose and am able to get a Sion discount,” senior Allie Weinrich said. “I brought my grandma and we both went shopping.”

Money raised will go towards the gala held March 3.

“I went to the event, and I thought it went well,” Townsend said. “There were some really good deals and some really cute items there.”
