Sion’s Vive Café’s menu is located in the Grande Salle, available to look over before ordering in the mornings.

Vive Café, the Sion coffee shop located in the Grande Salle, has become increasingly popular over the past couple years, with an assortment of drinks and breakfast items. Before school, students of all grades can be found in line to grab coffees, refreshers, and pastries to start off their classes strong. As a student who has gotten to school early for the past couple of years, I have become well acquainted with the refreshments of our early morning coffee shop. Over time, I’ve discovered some of these concessions are definitely worth trying, while others might be better bought somewhere else. The Sion coffee shop is always a wonderful option to have, but what drinks and pastries are better than others?

The Caramel Frappuccino is one of the tastiest treats on the menu. Although sometimes a little too much sugar for the morning, the whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and cold icy taste of this drink is a delicious option on the menu. The peanut butter and chocolate frappes come at a close second, and are both delicious as well.

Iced Chai Latte

As a die-hard iced chai latte fan myself, I’m a little bit picky when it comes to my favorite drinks. This coffee shop’s chai latte is unique, adding a measure of spice and flavor you won’t get anywhere else. It’s not a drink for every day, or every person, but it adds an interesting flavor to the drink.

Blueberry Muffin

The blueberry muffin is a classic breakfast item. It’s simple, but delicious, and never leaves me unsatisfied after buying one. The Mcclain’s muffins of the Vive Café are big enough to satisfy a breakfast. The price is relatively reasonable for such a large baked good, but add that with a drink and the coffee shop’s prices become unaffordable for such a simple ‘meal’.

Caramel Macchiato

Although partial to Caramel Macchiatos, as it’s generally a go-to item, the Sion Shoppe’s caramel macchiato is not the best macchiato to be found. In a pinch, it’s passable, but if you have time, Starbucks may be your best bet for this drink.

Raspberry Lemon Poppyseed Muffin

This Raspberry Lemon Poppyseed Muffin is absolutely mouthwatering. The raspberry and lemon-poppyseed is an angelic mixture, and the glaze on the top is the perfect touch. Large enough to satisfy, and bursts of flavor in every bite, this is an item everyone should try.

Chocolate Croissant

The chocolate croissant is another classic item, and an easy pickup right before class. Although occasionally on the stale side, generally, the chocolate croissant is a satisfying treat. If you’re not feeling a muffin in the morning, try grabbing a croissant to start off your day strong.
