Night of One Acts: Photo Gallery

Students performed various skits, plays and improv at the annual student-directed Night of One Acts Oct. 9.

  • Senior Phoebe Mullen and freshman Ellie Meredith performed as young Santana and young Azmira in Night of One Acts’ final play “Lemonpops and Teardrops” Oct 9. Written by sophomore Tyra Frazier and directed by senior Hannah Sue Kennish, “Lemonpops and Teardrops” served as the only student-written play for the evening.

  • At the conclusion of Night of One Acts, student directors seniors Peyton Wade and Hannah Sue Kennish collected donations for the Fine Arts program Oct. 9.

  • Senior Cara Hiatt and freshman Caroline Dold performed as stock characters Arlequinno and Pantalone in “Commedia dell’Arte at The Airport.” This year, by the direction of visual and performing arts teacher Maggie Killian, Commedia dell’Arte was incorporated into Night of One Acts Oct. 9. Commedia dell’Arte is an Italian based improv comedy based on stock characters. Students from creative writing classes wrote scenarios for the Night of One Acts’ performance.

  • Freshman Caroline Dold, freshman Addie Hiestand, senior Phoebe Mullen, senior Cara Hiatt and junior Mattie Mills perform “SNL Student Theater Showcase” at Night of One Acts Oct. 9. The SNL based skit was adapted by senior Peyton Wade and directed by Wade and senior Hannah Sue Kennish.

  • Cast and crew gifted co-director senior Peyton Wade with a flower bouquet at the conclusion of Night of One Acts Oct. 9.

  • Co-director senior Hannah Sue Kennish explained the Commedia dell’Arte stock characters prior to the first Commedia dell’Arte performance at Night of One Acts Oct. 9.

  • During “Four Corners” improv at Night of One Acts Oct. 9, freshmen Caroline Dold and Lauren Millard acted out the audience-given plot of selling ice to an Eskimo.

  • Sophomore Tyra Frazier acted as Alicia in “Writer Left” at Night of One Acts Oct. 9. “Writer Left” was directed by senior Peyton Wade.

  • Freshmen Ellie Meredith and Lauren Millard performed as angels Raquel and Michaela in “Have You Seen Down There Lately?” at Night of One Acts Oct. 9.

  • Freshman Lauren Milliard and senior Phoebe Mullen performed improv during “Four Corners” at Night of One Acts Oct. 9. With the audience topic of a VSCO girl, Mullen acted as if she dropped her Hydro Flask.

  • Senior Phoebe Mullen and freshman Caroline Dold acted as young Santana and Charlie in sophomore Tyra Frazier’s play “Lemondrops and Teardrops” at Night of One Acts Oct. 9.

  • Freshman Addie Hiestand and Senior Cara Hiatt performed as Samantha and Trudy in “Writer Left” at Night of One Acts Oct. 9.

  • In a round of “Four Corners” improv, freshman Lauren Millard and senior Phoebe Mullen perform a scene given by an audience member at Night of One Acts Oct. 9.
